Family Tree research: Colin Peet (1942-2012)

Started by: Andy1970 (7)

Hi. I'm doing some research into my family tree and was wondering if anyone has any information relating to Colin Peet (born 1942) - parents Thomas Peet and Florence Cheetham - who I believed passed away in 2012. Particularly interested in any children he and his wife Eileen may have had (or whether they were childless) as I haven't been able to find any information about this. Many thanks in advance for any help.

Did 'Thomas Peet., by any chance, live in a bungalow, number 3 Cranbrook Way, off Whitley Crescent?

Colin was born 1942 registered Ormskirk , and died 2012 Ormskirk,
his parents were married Burscough Methodist Church 1941, looks like Colin was a only child
Colin and Eileen (Shepherd) were married 1941 Methodist Church Whelley Wigan, I believe they had 2 children Lorraine birth registered 1971 Ormskirk and Glyn birth registered West Lancs 1977 ,
I believe Lorriane married Gerrard Kennedy registered West Lancs 1997,
I think the difference in the registration districts was just a matter of boundary changes

The Thomas Peet I mentioned had a 'Mace' grocers shop and a house in Frog Lane, Wigan, and he also did loans. I'm sure he told me he had a son. I would estimate his age, in 1981, at around early to mid 70's.

I also know of another Tommy Peet who worked for the NCB. He was a mining instructor at Old Boston in Haydock, then a training officer. He came up on Spot the Ball and bought a new detached house in Westhoughton. Last time I saw that Tommy he wasn't so good. His wife had gone into a care home as he was struggling to look after her.

I'm sure there will be others? but there's two for starters!
